Terms, Conditions & Privacy Policy
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before making a booking. These terms apply to all services provided by The Bergen Historian.
1. BOOKING AND CONFIRMATION
For bookings made through the online booking systems (TripAdvisor or GetYourGuide), see the booking platform`s policies.
For private, customized, or special-request tours arranged outside the online booking system, the booking becomes binding once it has been confirmed by us in writing via email.
By making a booking, the customer accepts these Terms and Conditions in full.
We recommend booking at least two weeks in advance for private and customized tours.
2. PAYMENT AND PARTICIPANTS
All prices are stated in Norwegian kroner (NOK). Payment is collected via booking platforms (open tours) or via invoice.
3. CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES
A full refund will be provided for cancellations of private tours made up to 48 hours before the scheduled tourstart time, excluding any agreed customization fees.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the tour start time, as well as failure to attend, will be charged in full and are not eligible for a refund.
This policy also applies in cases where participants are unable to attend due to illness, personal circumstances, travel delays, transportation disruptions, or other events beyond the participant’s control. Participants are therefore encouraged to obtain appropriate travel insurance.
If we are required to cancel a tour due to illness affecting the tour provider or guide, severe weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances preventing the tour from taking place, participants will be offered either a rescheduled tour or a full refund.

4. TOUR OPERATION AND RESPONSIBILITY
Tours normally operate in all weather conditions.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are physically able to participate and for wearing appropriate clothing and footwearsuitable for the weather and terrain.
Participation is at the participant’s own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Bergen Historian shall not be liable for any loss, injury, damage, delay, or inconvenience arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel insurance and for safeguardingtheir personal belongings during the tour.
5. PRIVACY
The information provided by the customer will be used solely for the purpose of processingthe booking, communicating regarding the service, and delivering the tour.
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties except where necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, or where consent has been given.
Personal data Is processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
